Clinical Mentorship and Consultation in Ottawa
Clinical Mentorship and Consultation
At Anchor Psychological Services, we provide collaborative, non-judgmental mentorship and consultation for emerging and established clinicians. Our experienced team supports professional growth, emotional awareness, and skill development through individual, group, and specialized supervision.
Helping Clinicians Learn, Reflect, and Grow
One of our passions at Anchor is the professional development of emerging and established health professionals. Our team members are experienced consultants with a broad range of clinical skills and areas of focus. We love to extend this experience out to other clinicians in our community. Our consultation model is developmental, meaning that the level of support differs with the experience of the consultee. We are committed to supportive and non-judgemental consultation, and to learning with you as you navigate clinical challenges. We also make space for the emotions that emerge in clinical work and help you safely explore how these may affect the progress of the work. Note that we are able to provide clinical supervision for the purposes of registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario to emerging psychologists and psychological associates.
Individual Consultation
When you seek out clinical consultation from team members at Anchor, we will begin with establishing shared goals and creating a consultation agreement based on those goals. Your consultation time will be used as you see fit, whether it is discussing a challenging clinical citation, reviewing ethical decision making, or sharing your personal reactions to your work. Consultation can be provided online or in-person, and at a frequency that matches your objectives.
Small Group Consultation
Small group consultation provides opportunities to connect with and learn from other members of the mental health provider community and is a cost-effective way to seek additional support with your work. We can provide consultation to a group that you have formed, or have you join a group that is already running.
Specialized Consultation
You may be seeking consultation in specific areas to augment your knowledge and skills. In addition to general consultation, our team members can provide specialized consultation in the areas of:
- Eating disorders
- Autism and other neurodivergence
- Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT)/Emotion-Focused Therapy-Family (EFT-F)
Those seeking consultation in EFFT can become certified by working with Drs. Mayman and Henderson, certified supervisors and trainers in EFFT and EFT-F.
