Amy Kohl, Registered Dietitian

she/her

I am a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor.  I obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science (1998) from Western University and Graduate Dietetic Internship (2000) from SickKids Hospital in Toronto. I have 25 years of clinical work experience in eating disorders, disordered eating, binge eating, pediatric nutrition, behavioural feeding concerns and healing from chronic dieting.

I specialized in Eating Disorder treatment and recovery for 15 years at SickKids hospital in the inpatient, intensive day hospital and outpatient clinic and for 3 years in an inpatient recovery facility for eating disorders and concurrent mental health, substance use, and OCD.  I work part-time counseling students at the University of Toronto Health and Wellness clinic.  In private practice, I provide nutrition counseling to children, adolescents, transitional-aged youth, adults, and families. Consistently delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusive care is my priority.

In addition to my extensive work experience, I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Family Based Treatment (FBT), Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Counseling, all of which guide my practice. As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor since 2025, I am passionate about dismantling diet culture, finding trust in our bodies, and healing our relationship with food after a lengthy dieting history.

I provide virtual nutrition counseling, across Ontario.
